Chimax is an example of an online shop selling chemistry products or related to it. This website has a landing page where a few products are showcased. It is possible to see all the products on the catalog page, but it is also possible to filter the products by categories on the corresponding page. To be able to make purchases on the site, the user needs to create an account. Once the email address has been confirmed, the user can modify their personal information as well as proceed with purchases. The purchases go through PayPal, a confirmation email is sent to the account linked to the purchase.

In the account page, it is possible to find a purchase history as well as a comment history.

Every user that has been designated as an administrator gains access to the admin dashboard. This dashboard allows the creation, deletion, and modification of the available products.

Technical side :

The website itself is coded mainly in PHP, with a bit of JavaScript to allow the deletion and adding comments with an Ajax call. The backend for the website is Laravel5, it is used for the account creation as well as the routing of the website. The controllers and data access objects are all custom-built. The demo website is hosted on a VPS and the database runs on MySQL on the same server.
